What was needed

An easy-to-use website promoting Cyclescheme, a facilitator of the Government's Green Transport Plan for bikes. There needed to be clear areas for both employers and employees using the scheme, and a savings calculator allowing employees to estimate their potential savings.

What Sodapop did

Since Sodapop's first website designed for Cyclescheme back in 2004 the company has continued to grow and flourish, 2008 saw the need for a revamp of the style and usability of the site to accommodate the large amount of traffic visiting the site.

The Government's Green Transport Plan allows employees to get a bike through their employer and save tax and National Insurance. Cyclescheme needed to cater for two different user groups with their public website: employers, who need to run the sheme; and employees, who the scheme benefits.

We created a three section site with relevant information for each user group, plus useful tools such as a savings calculator, a bike shop finder and a video to explain how the scheme works. The site allows employers to register for more information, and to date many thousands have registered. The site has also driven bike shop registrations, and Cylescheme now has nearly 1500 bike shops on board across the UK. The site attracts about 135,000 visitors a month.
